About Us

Soch is an independent student group that was created in the post-pandemic period. This period was characterised by a surprising dearth of academic and critical discourse on the campus - the campus of a law school, no less. Our only hope and aim in all of this has been to rekindle the flames of intellectual curiosity and critical engagement.

Through a range of initiatives, ranging from thought-provoking guest lectures to critical discussions on contemporary political-legal issues, Soch serves as a fertile ground for a diverse set of ideas and intellectual discourse.

Our Team

Vatsal Jindel

Vatsal is the founder of Soch — mostly because he couldn’t stand how boring and quiet things had gotten. He loves big questions, and long conversations that go off-track in the best possible way. Soch is his way of making sure those never run out.

Mansha Sidhu

The OG Ghaziabaddie with the T-Shirt to prove it (really), if you contact Soch, she’s most likely to reply. She is interested in Legal policy, research and access to justice. Just don't ask her views on access to justice unless you want an hour long rant.

The Creative Backbone of Soch who brings light, colors and humor to the meetings. Interested in feminist legal perspectives and access to justice.

Ishaany
Anas Khan Rayeen

The logistical backbone of Soch. The one guy none of us would want to upset. With an impeccable taste for food and scents, and an enviable eye for detail - Anas makes sure the events we plan actually end up happening.

Gunjan Singh Khandate

Passionate about a LOT of stuff and will not miss an opportunity to make his point. Ask him about highways or food or economic theories, and be amazed at the passion it invokes. Or ask about music or literature, and be amazed at the depth of his knowledge.

Siddhartha Das

When he's not deep in legal texts, you’ll find him strategizing over a game of chess, getting lost in cinematic storytelling, or exploring new cuisines. With a passion for litigation and policy research, he’s all about making a real impact in the legal world.

Aakash DB

Aakash is the go-to guy for anything tech and everything nice. Super sweet, always helpful, and somehow knows everyone—if you need a solution (or a connection), he’s your guy!

Praddosh S M

That over-excited and hard-working guy who volunteers for everything from website design to drafting documents (on which now the rest of us count on). Just too humble (lazy?) to write his own bio - so one of us had to step in. Annoying for his dedication but utterly indispensable.
